Causes of central abrasion of car tyre surface

If the center of the car tyre face is worn faster than the adjacent tread area, possible causes include excessive inflation, narrow rim width, tyre misuse, and back sliding, resulting in the wear of the center of the tread. Incorrect tyre rotation and acceleration, and some tyres (such as high performance tires) can cause rapid wear of the tread center in case of insufficient inflation.

If the tread depth in any tread groove is equal to or less than 1.6mm, or if the cord or tread tread has been exposed, the tyre must be replaced. If the remaining tread depth is adequate, check that the wheel width, auto parts are correct, check and adjust tyre pressure, and then rotate tyres to extend tyre life.
